MentorshipCareer Guidance & Placement Mentorship
Mentorship sessions preparing students for placements and interviews.
This session was built entirely around one question we hear from final-year students every week: 'What do I actually do next?' Instead of a generic motivational talk, the Techogies mentor panel walked into the room with a plan — resumes, portfolios, interview questions and honest feedback.
The morning started with a structured resume clinic. Students submitted their CVs the previous week, and mentors returned them in class with clear, line-by-line comments. Common issues surfaced almost immediately: buzzwords with no evidence, missing links to projects, and no clear story about impact. Fixing these turned average resumes into interview-worthy ones on the spot.
Mock interviews followed. Students paired up with mentors for short technical rounds — data structures, JavaScript fundamentals, SQL, and a quick system-design sketch. The feedback loop was tight: attempt, review, retry. By the second round, the improvement in confidence was visible across the room.
The session wrapped up with a roadmap tailored to different tracks — Full Stack, Data, and Security — and a shortlist of open internships the students could apply to that week. Several attendees followed up within days with offer letters and internship confirmations, which is the real measure of a session like this.
